The city where I don’t have a presence yet but want to is… a toss-up between Tokyo and Paris. There’s nothing like good live music to get you into a happy mood. My favorite spot in New York is… Silver Lining. The way I most enjoy unwinding is by… meditating with my wife. The hotel that I’m in love with is… currently, I’m loving the Twenty Two in London, but my favorite hotel of all time is still the Plaza in New York-it’s just a classic.
Then it’s dinner together and a book at bedtime. Spending the perfect day with my family involves… waking up early with my kids, having breakfast, going outside, and having fun together. My favorite city where I have a restaurant or nightclub is… New York City forever! The restaurant I dine at most often when I’m not at one of my spots is.Avra for Greek food. My favorite going-out outfit is… a black shirt, dark jeans, high-top sneakers, and a dark leather jacket. The only thing I might change after a night out is making my espresso a double. The best breakfast after a big night out is… big night out or not, I eat the same breakfast every day: one green juice, cut-up strawberries, raspberries, and pineapple, and eggs with wheat toast. I always prefer to eat at one of our Tao Group Hospitality venues,-Tao, Lavo, Cathédrale, Beauty & Essex, Hakkasan, Sake No Hana, or another spot. For me, the later, the better, as it allows me to finish my work and not rush right out.
The perfect night out involves… starting with a late dinner. If you can get someone on the phone and are polite, there is always a better chance of getting a reservation. My insider tip on scoring a reservation or getting entry into an in-demand club or restaurant is… to call up, don’t go through an app or online. The best piece of career advice I’ve gotten is… that hospitality is a marathon, not a race, and make sure you choose your partners wisely. My work-life balance is my top priority these days. My role model in business is… my wife, watching her balance a career and her job as a full-time parent inspires me the to do the same. And I just love the food and ambiance at both! Sake has incredible sushi that we fly in from Japan a couple of times a week and satisfying noodles and cooked dishes like the Shonan pasta with clams and yuzu. These are our latest concepts, so I have been giving them some extra attention. The restaurant or club of mine that I frequent most often is…Sake No Hana, our new Japanese restaurant, and Silver Lining, a live music lounge. He recently shared a few of his favorite things with Penta. Tepperberg resides in Manhattan with his wife, the wellness entrepreneur Melissa Wood Tepperberg, and their two children. The company continues to expand its footprint with recent openings of Ling Ling Dubai, The Highlight Room at NYC’s new Moxy Lower East Side, and Tao Beach at The Venetian in Las Vegas. Today, Tepperberg and his partner Jason Strauss are co-CEOs of Tao Group Hospitality and oversee a portfolio of more than 70 venues in 20 cities.
